Creating content on social media is a marketing strategy that we highly recommend to our BWJ Travel Agents. It is a great and very accessible way to promote your services. But you might not have much experience using social media in a professional way, so where do you start? Here are some quick tips on creating content as a travel agent.
Know your niche
First and foremost, you must decide on what your travel specialty is going to be. What sort of travel do you want to specialize in and/or what kind of clients do you want to cater to? It’s crucial that you decide your niche before anything else because that will determine the content that you create. If you’re specializing in all inclusive vacations for families, that’s what your content should be about. If you’re specializing in cruises for couples, that’s what your content should be about. You see where we’re going with this?
Keep it valuable
The purpose of creating content is to add value to the audience seeing it. Do you provide helpful information? Are you making people laugh? Can you grab attention and make them want to learn more? These are the questions that you should be asking yourself as you map out a content strategy for yourself.
Keep it personal and authentic
It’s called social media for a reason. People are on these platforms to interact with other people. It’s not just about promoting a hot deal and calling it a day. You have to work on creating genuine connections with people, and that requires putting yourself out there. It helps to include your face in your content so that people know who you are, but it’s not necessary if you’re not comfortable. Instead, you can come up with other creative ways to remain authentic and thus create authentic content that resonates with people.
